Engaged!

So you guys have been asking our story, how did he do it? Where? What does the ring look like? Well, our engagement story begins in the happiest place on earth (quite appropriate I'd say). But before we get into that I thought I would start from the beginning.

Nick and I met when we moved into the same ward right when we were around 8 years old. I don't remember much all I knew is that he was way too hyper for my liking and made me angry when I talked to him. So we stayed on our separate courses. Around 16-17 he started to grab my interest.

Little Nicholas had grown up. He was no longer as hyper as that boy I once knew. A month goes by and I got a job at a movie theater. Our first date (of many) was my first (of many)free movies! I texted nick and said if he would pay for us to go to dinner I could get him into a movie. So we saw iron man and had some chili's. That was may 15th, 2008.

3 and 1/2 years later, almost to the day, we go to Disneyland.

We had looked at rings and I had the one I wanted pretty much picked out but I had no idea we were even close to having the resources to buy it.

I was wrong.

We had a magical day in Disneyland, it was night time and the castle was decorated for Christmas and the Christmas tree on main street was glorious.

He took me to the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey mouse. He started telling me all these beautiful things he loved about me. I still had no clue what was going on because he tells me this stuff constantly! (pause: this is why I love him so much, he seriously constantly tells me how grateful he is for me and how much and why he loves me and how he can't wait till I'm his forever...he is amazing) so I really had no idea he was in the middle of proposing to me until he said "so i've been meaning to ask you something for a while...".

Then it clicked. Then I was ecstatic. Then I had a sparkly ring on my left finger.

Shout-out to David stauffer: don't feel like you're the only one, nick wasnt sure of which hand either :)

So we had a mini-photoshoot with a Disneyland photographer. It was fabulous. I'm going to try to attach pictures to this post but if I can't they will all be on Facebook soon.

So thanks for tuning into our engagement story!

Here are some answers to questions I'm sure will be coming:

We don't have a date, we've been thinking next may.
Colors I like are pale yellow and sage green.

3 years!

3 years....wow.

May 15th marked the 3 year mark me and Mr. Nicholas have been together. I am one lucky girl. I was just telling him the other day if I could dream up my perfect man it would be him. He has every quality I could ever hope for in a boyfriend. To celebrate our anniversary we drove to the bay area and saw my grandparents and visited a bit with them. Then we drove over to Bodega Bay and had a lovely picnic which consisted of playing catch and eating fancy cheese and napping in the sun. It was perfect. I'm looking forward to many more anniversaries with this handsome man.

Easter

We had a great time during Easter. Each year my family invites tons of people over to kind of a potluck-style dinner and it's all great fun. As with any big event usually there's some stress involved in the couple days before. In one such moment I was assigned to make these lovely cookies and I was NOT in the mood. My sweetheart of a boyfriend who let's just say is not a baker by any means then offers to do it together! So there we spent our Saturday night, covered in flour from head to toe laughing and enjoying each other's company while completing my task.

Moral of the story: boyfriends make everything fun <3

And so it begins...

I've been thinking lately about blogs. I've come to the conclusion that I'd like to part of this classy crowd and share my thoughts with the world. I don't know who's out there or who would be interested in my views on things but we'll see where this goes. I guess an introduction is in order.

I am Lauren Ann Larson.
I can be really quiet and subdued at times and then become boisterous 5 minutes later. It's strange.
I am a Hairdresser and I love every second of it. Hair is my passion and it affects my mood if I'm not doing hair on a constant basis.
I went to Paul Mitchell the School and my Paul Mitchell Family means a lot to me.
My favorite book besides scripture is Be Nice (Or Else!) by Winn Claybaugh. I try to implement lessons from it in my life on a daily basis.
My hair color is bound to change every 8 weeks.
My favorite color is yellow and if the sun is out I'm pretty much guarenteed to be in a good mood.
I have been dating a boy named Nicholas for 3 years next month and he is everything to me.
I use my imagination a lot and I like to giggle at silly things.
I bake pies and I love it. I pretty much love baking anything.
And my favorite thing to do is make people smile.
